Oakfield House is a Victorian mansion set in 125 acres of award winning gardens, very much at the heart of the zoo... in all ways.

Originally built by the Mayor of Chester just over 100 years ago, Oakfield House was then bought by grocer George Mottershead in the early 1930s. With love, passion and a lot of determination, he turned it and the surrounding gardens into one of the world’s most beautiful and highly acclaimed zoos.

The house and zoo can offer you a unique, elegant and extraordinary setting for your big day and will create lasting memories for you and your guests to talk about for years to come.
